tt 3d wwiiThe four massive columns designed to support the new Canopy of Peace at the National World War II museum in New Orleans, Louisiana, have been pre-assembled for fit out at a steel shop in Tijuana, Mexico. Thornton Tomasetti designed the 150-foot-tall, 484-foot-long, 131-foot-wide steel space truss canopy structure as part of an expansion that will quadruple the size of the museum. We are providing structural engineering services to the World War II Museum for the project. Partially covered with translucent fabric panels, the canopy will unify the campus, provide shade and lighting to the parade ground underneath and will give the museum its signature feature.
