The professorship has a special responsibility for education and research in methods and technology related to acquisition of 3D data for digital modelling. The masters in geomatics at NTNU is a part of the Engineering and ICT program, and at NTNU there is a strong connection between geomatics and computing science. The position will also have responsibilities related to basic education in geomatics within the program for Civil and Environmental Engineering. The position requires expertise in geomatics, considerable knowledge about relevant computer technology, and special competence in 3D data acquisition and digital modelling. This includes one or several of these fields: LIDAR, image based 3D data collection (for example by the use of drones), remote sensing, data flow through the complete process from data acquisition to various use of the data.
