balfour bim4Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure group, welcomed over 70 industry specialists to its head office in Canary Wharf, London, last week to launch the BIM4 Highways Group which will look to understand the benefits and challenges of implementing BIM (Building Information Modelling) Level 2 in the Road and Highways sectors.  The launch saw discussion of the group’s mission, activities undertaken so far and goals for 2017 and beyond. It also explored how contractors can collaborate effectively with each other and their supply chain to overcome challenges and share good practice.  Balfour Beatty is at the forefront of utilising BIM as one of only a handful of businesses to have achieved the British Standards Institute BIM Kitemark for excellence and the first contractor to achieve BIM Level 2 accreditation.
