geofabric water modelWe’ve just released version 3 Geofabric data for the South East Coast Victoria drainage division. The Geofabric is a digital database of surface and groundwater features—like a street directory of Australia’s important hydrologic features. Version 3 of the Geofabric uses a finer scale for mapping features and the 1-second digital elevation model (DEM), providing catchment areas that better reflect the reality of regional catchment boundaries, including integrated monitoring stations and contributing catchment areas. It also provides improved resolution and an increased number of features, including rivers, lakes, water tanks, dams and monitoring stations. South East Coast Victoria is the fourth of 13 drainage divisions to have version 3 data published. Through 2017 we will publish the remaining nine drainage divisions, with associated beta releases for testing. Let us know if you are interested in participating in beta testing or providing feedback on any aspect of the Geofabric.
