Dassault Systemes simplified his SOLIDWORKS solution portfolio for the coupling of electrical, electronic and mechanical design the product development process in companies. SOLIDWORKS Electrical Professional and SOLIDWORKS PCB integrate both disciplines in the SOLIDWORKS data model and allow the parallel, collaborative development of mechatronic products. Thus, it is now for the first time possible to develop a complete virtual prototype, which can be checked during the process closely and already always is for all disciplines up to date. This avoids that design errors are detected by electrical systems only in the assembly. An ideal solution to save time and money.
SOLIDWORKS Electrical Professional combines the functions of the design of electrical schematics of SOLIDWORKS Electrical with the 3D capabilities of SOLIDWORKS 3D Electrical in one package. Users are tools for single and multi-pole circuit diagrams available as well as an integrated library of thousands symbols and components that enable rapid design of embedded electrical systems. Development teams can work on one or more projects and synchronize their work thanks to bi-directional associativity with each other. Moreover, it is possible to integrate circuit diagrams from SOLIDWORKS Electrical in the 3D model and to incorporate three-dimensional versions of all electrical components in the model, and to create lines and connection with wires, cables and wiring harnesses. All 2D and 3D designs are synchronized in real time, so that can be fully integrated piece lists that contain both the mechanical and the electrical parts. Read More
